Some of my friends and I went through a period of throwing empty beer bottles at signs as we drove down the road. (I will not mention their names). One night I was hanging from an unmentioned named friends car and managed to hit a sign overhead along the bypass. It was a great shot, but the bottle didn't break. Instead it bounced off the sign and hit a car driving behind us. We sped away thinking nothing about it. The next morning I was called to the principal's office and told that the car that was hit by my stray beer bottle last night was the assistant principal's...he recognized me and wanted the car repaired. I soon figured out that I was not going to be the class president that year.
