I was lucky enough to be able to stay home caring for our 5 boys and 1 daughter. During those years we owned a sail boat big enough for us to spend our vacations on. Many years were spent watching football games, tennis matches, swimming events. The children all excelled in some sport. Two are avid sailors, two are good tennis players and all were excellent swimmers. They learned all this during grade school, high school and college. Four of the children are married. We have 7 granddaughters and 1 grandson. I suppose my biggest accomplishment since 1959 was raising our children. They have grown to be healthy, happy and respected adults. Dick and I are now enjoying his retirement. We still sail, read, and tend our garden. I play tennis as often as I can. I also enjoy knitting and smocking beautiful things for my grandchildren.
My teachers, friends, and especially Mr. Hurt helped me to become the person I am today.
