Shelby Jean Davis, 74, of North Garden, Va passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. She was born in Charlottesville January 29, 1951, to the late Edgar E. Pugh and Lillian A. Lynch.
Shelby graduated from Albemarle High School in 1969 and attended classes at Virginia Tech. She worked as a customer service representative for several businesses throughout Charlottesville. Shelby was a collector of thimbles and her collection surpasses 100 from all over the world. She had a love for dragons, music and football; the Pittsburgh Steelers being her favorite team. Shelby and Warren enjoyed traveling together, some of their favorite places being Alaska, Grand Canyon, and Yellowstone National Park. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and especially enjoyed making sure she got the perfect gifts for everyone in her life and would start shopping in January each year.
Shelby is survived by her husband of 46 years, Warren T. Davis; son, Jason T. Davis; a brother, Chuck Pugh; and additional other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Covesville Baptist Church, 5729 Heards Mtn. Rd. Covesville, VA, 22931 with a burial to follow at Norvelle Family Cemetery, 5170 Monacan Trail Rd. Covesville, VA, 22931.
Serving as pallbearers are: Larry Campbell, Robbie Campbell, Ryan Hunt, Joe Kellum, Curtis Powell, Cedric Whindleton and three honorary pallbearers: Gene Burton, William Johnson, and James Whindleton.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made in Shelby's name to Covesville Baptist Church.
