It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Blake Austin Lunnen on September 18, 2024. A beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, Blake touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his sweet smile and unwavering kindness.
Born on December 9, 1994, in Charlottesville, VA he was known for his infectious smile and ability to make people laugh. Blake was a dedicated fan of the University of Maryland Terrapins, the Washington Redskins and the Penn State Nittany Lions, enjoying games with his family and friends.
After conquering his own battle with addiction, Blake became a Lead Technician at Pyramid Health in Duncansville, PA. Loved by the Pyramid staff and clients alike, he was not just a co-worker but for many he was family that will never be able to be replaced. It was Blake's hope to rejoin his family in Charlottesville. His ashes will be interred at Christ Episcopal Church.
Blake is survived by his parents Lydia and Brent, his bother Lance and Lance's finance Lexi and brother Eric, and many friends and family that will carry his memory in their hearts forever. He was preceded in death by his uncles, Dave Williams and Ray Lunnen, Jr., and his beloved grandparents, Frank and Mary Anne Shull, with whom, we are confident, he is now happily discussing the Terps.
Please join his family at The Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 14th, @ 3 p.m.-5 p.m. at the Old Metropolitan Hall in Charlottesville. Please feel free to join the family in wearing green, Blake's favorite color.
Blake's spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, reminding us all to cherish each moment and to always strive for a better world. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
