Joshua Michael Parsons, 37, died Dec. 19, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 10, 1985, in Dover-Foxcroft, a son of David and Scarlette (Dickinson) Parsons.

He had been employed as a patient representative at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Joshua moved with his family from Maine to Charlottesville, VA, in 1996. He graduated from Albemarle High School and has been self-educated ever since. Described as a computer geek Joshua was an intelligent person who loved animals, nature, art, and cooking. He also had a crazy sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife, Alexis Parsons of VA; paternal grandmother, Elzadia Parsons of Belfast; his maternal grandmother, Patsy Dickinson Parks of VA; his father, David Parsons of NC; his mother, Scarlette Valentine of VA; a stepdaughter, Noelle Morris of VA; a brother, Justin Parsons of VA; a half sister Elizabeth Parsons of CT; aunts and uncles, including 2 special uncles, Rick McKenney of NH and Fritz Dickinson of GA; a special aunt, Jessica Davidson of FL; and his beloved cat, Monica.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport. A spring committal will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
