Christopher J. Carr - Class Of 1996

Carr, Christopher Julian Christopher Julian "CJ" Carr, the son of Louie Earnley Carr Jr. and Sadie Carr, was born February 7, 1977 in Charlottesville, Virginia.

On Thursday, May 28, 2015, God dispatched His angels to West Point, Virginia with the command to escort CJ's soul into the Heavenly realm. Upon his arrival, CJ was welcomed with open arms by his sister, Zinka Carr; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Carr Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Jackson; and numerous other relatives.

At an early age CJ joined Chapman Grove Baptist Church, where he accepted Christ into his life. Later he rededicated his life and was baptized at Covenant Church. He graduated from Albemarle High School and later studied at Norfolk State University.

Anyone who had the honor of meeting Chris and the privilege of being touched by him knew him for his magnetic personality. He was always a giver, asking of others with nothing in return, and putting others before him. Chris always had a joyous nature and humble spirit. Basically, he loved everyone unconditionally as God loves us.

CJ's whole life was dedicated to his wife, sons, family, and friends. Whether that meant volunteering at the church, coaching his boys' athletics or just being a shoulder to lean on. CJ leaves to cherish his memories his parents; his wife, Christy Williams Carr; and two sons, Isaiah Williams Carr and Jordan Xavier Carr. Also CJ is survived by his remaining siblings, Tamara D. Carr and Carla Fuller-Baker McCray and her husband, James, both of Maryland and Keisha Mills of Petersburg, Virginia; mother and father-in-law, Clay and Nina Williams of West Plains, Missouri; step mother, Diane L. Carr of Orange, Virginia; nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by "his boys" Christopher Steadley, Jimeal Brackett, Kenny Awkward, Randy Jackson and a host of many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Covenant Church with Pastor Harold Bare officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Save.org Christopher Julian "CJ" Carr Memorial Fund.
