In Memory

Eric Moody - Class Of 1991

Eric Andrew Moody, 51, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 22, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Massachusetts to parents Judith Ann (Wright) Moody and Gary Roscoe Moody, Eric's early years were spent riding bikes with his older brother, Stephen Edward Moody, around quaint New England towns, creating fond memories in Millbrook, NY and Barrington, RI. In middle school, Eric moved to Charlottesville, VA where he made lifelong friends and graduated from Albemarle County High School in 1991 and William & Mary in 1995.

After college, Eric moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he started his career in business finance and accounting. There, he met his wife, Kristin Lewis Moody, marrying on July 17, 1999, and began building a beautiful life together. All three of Eric's children were born in Cincinnati, OH: Claire Virginia Moody, Asa Stephen Moody, and Macy Helene Moody. In 2007, his career brought him and his family back to Charlottesville, where he lived out the rest of his journey.

Eric loved to travel, and one of his biggest dreams was realized early on when he and Kristin went on a 4-month, around-the-world trip in 2000/2001. They kept on making dreams together as a family in beautiful places, whether that was taking in the ocean on the many trips to the Outer Banks or drinking in the Blue Ridge Mountains from their back porch. Eric wore many titles: husband, father, son, brother, friend, co-worker, world traveler, golfer, soccer coach, swim club president, pizza connoisseur, corn hole marvel, and many others. Above all, Eric prioritized and loved his family with all his might. He was the loudest cheerleader on the sidelines of his children's activities, of whom he was so proud. You felt blessed to be among the tight circle of love that Eric kept.

His love is carried on by his wife, Kristin; their three children, Claire, Asa, and Macy; mother, Judy; father, Gary; brother, Stephen and his family (wife Carla Komich Moody and two sons Owen and Connor); parents-in-law Steven & Mary Lewis; sisters-in-law, Betsy & Erica Lewis; many close friends, and his dogs & cat.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, January 11, 2025, at Lampo restaurant's event space, Bar Baleno, at 209 Monticello Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22902. Please feel free to drop in anytime between 5:00-7:00pm as we come together to remember Eric's incredible life, cherish the memories we shared, and find some peace in the love and support of one another. Light refreshments and drinks will be served.
