In Memory

Brian Randell Watkins - Class Of 1988

Brian Randell Watkins, 50, of Esmont, Va., departed this life on Saturday January 30, 2021, at his residence.  He was born in Charlottesville, Va., on September 27, 1970, the son of Ray Watkins and the late Viola Anderson Watkins.

Brian received his formal education in the Albemarle County School System and was a graduate of Albemarle High School.  After high school, he joined the United States Armed Forces.  He eventually found his passion in the food industry and became a dedicated cook.  He was employed by Moe’s Original Bar B Que.  He loved catering events. Anyone could request a dish from Brian and rest assured they would receive it.  He was an avid fan of all genres of music and the Dallas Cowboys football team.  He was a reserved and quiet person, unless he was talking about his nephews and nieces.  He would do anything for those children. He usually took care of everyone around him before himself.  Brian will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Ray Watkins of Esmont; one brother, Vincent L. Anderson and sister-in-law, Trice of Charlottesville; two nephews, Kareem Johnson and Kainan Anderson, two nieces, D’Andrea and Martina Anderson all of Charlottesville; two uncles, Edward F. Anderson Jr. and wife, Shirley of Suffolk, Virginia and Randy Watkins of New Carrollton, Maryland; two aunts, Delores Terry and Frances Mihlan and husband, Stephen all of San Antonio, Texas; one very special and devoted aunt, Rev. Mary “ANT” Carey and husband, Emanuel “Uncle Mannie” Carey of Esmont; two lifelong devoted friends Melissa Hedgeman of Esmont and Pam Williams and a honorary son Gregory Williams both of Charlottesville; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 08, 2021, at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, 7725 Porters RD, Esmont, Virginia 22937
