Joseph Patrick Davis - Class Of 1986

Joseph "Patrick" Davis passed away on October 22, 2025. Patrick was born on October 25, 1967, and was raised in Charlottesville, Virginia.

After graduating from Albemarle High School, Patrick went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Geography from Radford University. He began his career traveling across the United States, working in mineral exploration, surveying, and mapping. He loved sharing stories about the remarkable adventures he experienced while exploring some of the country's most remote and beautiful regions. Patrick later made his home in Richmond, Virginia, where he continued his work in the geological and environmental fields, ultimately retiring as a Senior Environmental Manager with Carpenter Co.

Patrick's interests were vast, and he excelled at anything he set his mind to, from lacrosse and golf to guitar and photography. His deep love of music was evident in his exceptional guitar playing, and his talent behind the camera was equally remarkable. Paired with his passion for travel, both throughout the United States and abroad, his photography resulted in countless extraordinary images that we will always treasure.

Above all, Patrick was full of heart, humor, and a deep love for his family and friends. We were truly blessed to have had him in our lives. His warm smile and easy laughter will remain with us forever.

Patrick is survived by his sisters, Cathy Davis and Anne Welch, both of Charlottesville, Virginia; his niece, Shawna McCall (Drew) of Alpharetta, Georgia; his nephew, Patrick (Alexa) of Salt Lake City, Utah; his great-nephew, Colin McCall, and great-niece, Jillian McCall, both of Alpharetta, Georgia. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Roger Sprouse of Charlottesville, Virginia; his aunt, Lil Collins of Galway, Ireland; many beloved cousins and family throughout Ireland; and cherished relatives in Maryland and South Carolina.

Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Joe Davis, mother Theresa Davis, and sister Mary Ellen Sprouse, all of Charlottesville, Virginia.

A service and celebration for Patrick will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in his honor to Boys and Girls Club of America.
