Vonda Kay Holsapple (Jordan) - Class Of 1985


Photo Vonda Kay Jordan, 41, of Scottsville, died at Martha Jefferson Hospital on Sunday, February 11, 2007. She had battled Hodgkins disease for the past three years and fought a courageous battle.

Born November 18, 1965, in Charlottesville, she was the daughter of Roger Lee Holsapple and Frances Marie Holsapple.

Preceding her in death was her father-in-law, Charles Woodrow "Woody" Jordan; and her grandparents, Lacy and Jessie Holsapple and Mr. and Mrs. Paschall.

Vonda attended Albemarle High School and was employed by Belk Corporation and Fluvanna County Public School System as well as Scottsville IGA prior to her cancer diagnosis. Vonda was currently disabled from her cancer. She was a member of Slate Hill Baptist Church but attended Scottsville Baptist Church.

Vonda enjoyed all the children she encountered throughout her years. She loved gardening, being outdoors but most of all she loved the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Brian K. Jordan; her two daughters, Chasity and Kristen; her parents, Roger and Frances Holsapple; her brother, Roger Holsapple Jr.; her sisters, Denise Wheeler and Mary Paschall; her mother-in-law, Rose Jordan; two sisters-in -law, Stephanie O'Brien and Penny Tapscott and her husband, Harvey Jr.; and many aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2007, at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville. Interment will follow at Scottsville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the HOPE staff at Martha Jefferson Hospital, the nurses on South 7 and ICU, but especially Dr. Emanuel Cirenza and Dr. Alex Schultz who walked the journey with Vonda during her illness.

Those who wish may make contributions to HOPE Cancer Center, 459 Loicst Ave. Charlottesville, VA 22902 in memory of Vonda.
