Anthony Wade Thacker - Class Of 1976

 

 

Anthony Wade Thacker, 48, of Palmyra, died Thursday, March 29, 2007, at a local hospital.

Born September 18, 1958, in Charlottesville, he was the son of James and Barbara Thacker of Scottsville.

Anthony was an engineer with Cableform for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School, served in the United States Marines, a member of Lake Monticello Bass Club, and a member of New Bethel United Methodist Church. Anthony was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sarah D. Thacker of Palmyra; a daughter, Amy Horne and her husband, Timothy, of Ruckersville; a son, Eric Thacker of Lake Monticello; two grandchildren, Kayli Horne and Camren Horne; and a brother, James C. Thacker, Jr. of Lake Monticello.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at Monticello Memory Gardens with the Reverend Emerson Shelton officiating.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007, at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

The family suggests that any desired memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 1131, Fairfax, VA 22038-1131.
