Cole Lewis Roberts - Class Of 1976

 
 

 

Roberts, Cole Lewis Cole Lewis Roberts formerly of Charlottesville, Va. passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015, at his home in Kill Devil Hills, N.C.Cole was born in Austin Texas, February 3, 1958.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lt. Col. Robert Neale Roberts Sr.; his mother, Margaret Douglas Lewis LaSauce; and a brother, Robert Neale Roberts Jr.

He is survived by his children, Andrew Lewis Roberts and Stephanie Stratos Roberts; and a brother, Stuart Singleton Roberts and his wife, Brenda L Roberts, all of Charlottesville; as well as a number of cousins and many friends.

Cole was very proud of his family lineage which included some of the most prominent families of Colonial Virginia. The Lewis family built Castalia Farm and helped found Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick. He was always proud to tell you he was Meriweather Lewis's cousin.

Cole worked for GE/Fanuc in Charlottesville and also at Coors Brewing in Elkton, Va. He loved, being with family and friends as well as building, inventing, kite flying, remote control cars, nature and cooking. He helped build the home his children grew up in and was a master mechanic and was always willing to help anyone out with fixing something or loaning them tools. Cole in his younger years raced motocross and loved working on his beloved Porsche.

The family wishes to thank Carolyn Starmont for her steadfast love and friendship to Cole and all of her assistance. No local services are planned at this time; however, a memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the home of Georgeann Roberts in Charlottesville, Va. 22911 from 4 until 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to World Wildlife Fund, P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180.
