William Anthony Vayvada - Class Of 1975

  
 
Mr. William A. Vayvada, 30, of New Orleans, La., was killed Thursday, July 2, after being kidnapped.
 
Mr. Vayvada was a native of Charlottesville, Va., and a resident of New Orleans for eight years.  He was an aerospace engineer with Martin Marietta.
 
He received his bachelor's degree in 1979 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and master's degree in business administration from Tulane University in New Orleans. He was a graduate of Albemarle High School in Charlottesville.  He was a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
 
Survivors include his wife, Jane Hermansdorfer Vayvada; parents, Nancy Kennedy and George Vayvada, both of Charlottesville; one daughter, Emma Ruth Vayvada of New Orleans; one sister, Marsha Vayvada of Staunton, Va.; and two brothers, Michael Vayvada of Staunton, Christopher Vayvada of Charlottesville.
 
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Holy Comforter Catholic Church, Third and Jefferson Streets, Charlottesville, Va., with the Rev. Gerald Fogarty officiating.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution be made to Thomas Jefferson
