Edith Gail Kyser (Morris) - Class Of 1974

Edith "Gail" Morris, "Grammy" 60, of Charlottesville, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 14, 2015, at UVA Medical Center.

Born on April 16, 1955, she was the daughter of the late James Wilbur Kyser and Mildred Gibson Kyser. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tony Kyser.

Gail was a devoted wife, mother and Grammy. She was a child care provider for many years. Her proudest career accomplishments were doing daycare, watching children grow and being able to keep her grandsons.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edgar H. Morris; a son, Edgar "Shannon" Morris and Heather Wyatt whom she looked at as a daughter-in-law; a daughter, Melissa Dawn Morris, and Jason Herring whom she looked at as a son-in-law; three grandchildren, Conner, Preston and Gavin Morris; two special children that were like grandchildren to her, Breydan and Dylan Herring; stepmother, Jenny Kyser; two siblings also survive her, Diane and Rebecca, as well as her devoted sisters-in-law, Constance May, Rosa Thomas, Violet Thomas, and Brenda Thomas.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Hill and Wood Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2015, in the Hill and Wood Chapel.

Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be held after the burial at the home of Shannon Morris.

Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Cancer Center.
