Charles Michael Gibson, 49, of Charlottesville, died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at his home.

Born in Albemarle County on March 20, 1956, he was the son of the late James H. Gibson Jr. and Effie L. Batten Gibson.  He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shelia May Gibson.

Mr. Gibson was employed in the construction industry.

He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Gibson and her fiancé, Frank Jamieson, of Arvonia and Breanna Gibson of Scottsville; three sisters, Janna Lee Bruce and her husband, Raymond of Louisa, Peggy Jean Critzer and her husband, Wendell, of Louisa and Sharon Faye Harris and her husband, Degie, of Afton; three brothers, Carl Gibson and his wife, Rebecca, of Crozet, James W. Gibson and his wife, Nancy, of Charlottesville and Sherwood Gibson and his wife, Cora, of Charlottesville and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at the Teague Funeral Home, where a brief prayer service will conclude the visitation.
