 Herbert Russell Maddox Herbert Russell Maddox, 57, of Coolidge, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 24, 2012, at the V.A. Hospital in Temple, Texas, with family at his side. Mr. Maddox was born on February 23, 1955, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Marion E. and Doris Bragg Maddox.
Upon graduation from high school, he served in the United States Army at Fort Eustis in Virginia. After leaving the service, he worked in construction and directional drilling for his whole career.
Herbert was preceded in death by his father, Marion E. Maddox.
He is survived by his wife, Shonda Maddox of Coolidge, Texas; daughter, Melissa Maddox of Tehuacana, Texas; stepdaughters, Skyla Cox of Coolidge and Christa Hobbs of Temple; mother, Doris Taylor of Esmont; sisters, Sharon Wray and husband, David, of Schuyler, Ruth Haddick and husband, Carl, of Mexia, Texas, and Jennie Lynn Combs and husband, Steve, of Schuyler; and brother, Nelson Maddox and wife, Teresa, of Esmont.
The family will have a private service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
