Gerald Alan Maupin, 57, of Ruckersvllle, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at his home.
Born July 1, 1945 in Washington, he is the son of May Crickenberger Maupin Corey and the late Malcolm E. Maupin.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Linda Deeds Maupin of Ruckersville; two sisters, Joyce Maupin Walton and her husband, Rusty, of Charlottesville, and Jeannie Maupin Tracy and her husband, Tom, of Waynesville, N.C.; two nephews, Nicholas Walton and his wife, Devon, of Ruckersville, and Stuart Walton of Charlottesville; and numerous friends and loved ones.
Jerry was a retired pilot for Geico.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Hill & Wood Funeral Service Inc., with the Rev. Jennifer Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Association, 3205 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, Va. 22901 or Hospice of the Piedmont, 1490 Pantops Mtn. Place, Charlottesville, Va. 22911.
