Well, I'm happy to be apart of the group which graduated from Albemarle High, and happy to say my two granddaugters attend there now. I'm glad to still see some of my classmates, and friends from the area, and love to see those from afar at reunions (which we have one for our class of 61 this August). We live in a great place, and I can again attend field hockey games and socca games to watch granddaughters play.
I think I was a bit shy, but there was some great looking guys at AHS. I studied hard and wanted to be a nurse, but instead went to Radiology School at UVa and became a Radiologic Technologist. It was definately a different era-the guys had a real thing for wanting to wear bemuda shorts and it was finally allowed. My most crazy class was homemake where we sewed skirts(put the zipper in on the wrong side), and baked cookies (ran to the cafeteria to buy milk to add to the dough), and wash windows, can't believed they expected that!!-didn't even want to do that at home. Anyway,it was fun and work-I loved the art class and choir-but wasn't very good at either. Thanks AHS for some happy memories. I had some good friends and some I still see and talk to.
