Dorothy Wood Sexton

Dorothy Wood Sexton, 70, of Charlottesville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at her home.

She was born on December 10, 1941, the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Louise B. Wood.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jesse L. Sexton; three children, Tina L. Sexton, Thomas W. Sexton and his wife, Elaine, and Travis B. Sexton; eight grandchildren, Richard Morris and his wife, Meagan, Kori Morris, Tyler Sexton, Chris Sexton, Kirby Sexton, Jonathan Sexton and Kylee Sexton; two great-grandchildren, Lilliana Morris and Tommy Sexton; a brother, William G. Wood and his wife, Lucille; and a nephew, Grayson Wood. Dorothy had over ten years of service with Belk Department Store and over twenty-five years of providing child care in her home.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Ruby, Autumn, and Janelle of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for their love and support. A special thank you also to Lucille Leake for her continual support, love, and friendship. A graveside service will be conducted by the Reverend Ruby Carnes at Holly Memorial Gardens, 3 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012. Memorial contributions may be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice.
