In Memory

Gloria Hale Haney (Fletcher) - Class Of 1960

Gloria Hale Haney Fletcher was called to her heavenly home on February 19, 2022.

Gloria was born on February 16, 1942, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Floyd and Elsie Haney. She spent her life in the town that she loved, growing a strong circle of family and friends that she adored and cared for.

Gloria, known most affectionately as "Nana", loved to read, go to UVA athletic events with her husband of 61 years, Don, country line dance, going out to eat, and to spend time with her friends and family. Nana was always smiling, laughing, and eager to help. Everyone loved going to Nana and Papa's house, where kids were spoiled and loved, but knew that Nana always meant business. Nana raised a countless number of kids in her house, teaching them love and respect. At Nana's house, the garage door was always open, and adults and children alike knew they were always welcome to come in for a chat and a treat from the "junk drawer".

Gloria is survived by her children, Beth Huckstep and husband, Keith, Donna Blincoe, and Keith Fletcher and wife, Sophie; six grandchildren, Allison Hoover and husband, Rowdy, Kadee Tate and partner, Adam Ward, Garrett Blincoe and fiancée, Katie Schick, Harrison Fletcher, Gretchen Blincoe and husband, Raymond Trouve, and Hattie Fletcher; and five great-grandchildren, Ruby, Huck, and Mack Hoover, Colton and Kennedy Tate.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Elsie Haney; her sister, Betty Norman; and her beloved husband, Don.

We will all miss her dearly and she has left a beautiful mark on all who were blessed to come in contact with her. Her love was strong and her heart was huge and gold. Love you more!

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Monticello Memorial Gardens.
