Jeremy Keith Reed, 55, of Charlottesville, passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2023, while at work. Jeremy was born on October 19, 1967, to Joseph W. Reed and Margaret A. Reed in Charlottesville, Virginia. After graduating from Albemarle High School, he went on to work for Sperry Marine, now Northrup Grummond, where he continued to work until his passing.

Jeremy had been a volunteer firefighter for the Charlottesville Fire Department since 1995 until present and had achieved the rank of Lieutenant. He also volunteered for the Earlysville Fire Department from 2003-2009. Jeremy had a passion for collecting World War II military memorabilia and was an avid history buff. He shared this passion with his best friend, Mike Chisholm.

Jeremy was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his mother, Margaret Ann Reed. He is survived by his father, Wally Reed, brother, Joey Reed, and nephews, Jonathan and Luke Reed.

No services are planned at this time, but a memorial service will be held in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Charlottesville/Albemarle SPCA, an organization he felt strongly about.
