James E. "Jim" Bailey - Class Of 1969

James "Jim" E. Bailey, 62, of Earlysville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2013, at Martha Jefferson Hospital after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Earlysville, Virginia, on March 2, 1951, to the late J. Edward Bailey and Dorothy Marshall Bailey.

MSG Jim Bailey retired from the United States Army in June of 1994, after 23 years of service in the Signal Corps. Following his retirement he worked for Southern Air as an electrician.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, John Bailey and wife, Sandra; his two daughters, Heather Bailey and husband, Larry, and Amber McNatt and husband, Terry, all of Austin, Texas; his son, Forrest Bailey of Earlysville; three grandchildren, Seth Bailey of Charleston, West Virginia, and Dominic and Claudia Ruiz of Austin, Texas; his niece, Miranda Heggestad and husband, Nathan, of Reston, Virginia; and his nephew, Joshua Bailey of Arlington, VA.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 550 Buck Mountain Road, Earlysville, Virginia, with the Reverend Lance King officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's honor to VFW Post 2044, 283 Reas Ford Road, Earlysville, VA 22936. Friends may send condolences to the family at www.hillandwood.com.
