Jamie Barr Mcclure (Wells) - Class Of 1981

Jamie Barr Mcclure Wells, 39, of Richmond, VA,  passed away on April 20, 2002, as a result of breast cancer.  She is survived by  her husband, Douglas "Keith" Wells, and 3 boys: Keith, Mason and Evan.

Jamie McClure Wells departed this life on April 20, 2002, after a long and
courageous battle with cancer. Jamie was born on June 20, 1963 in
Charlottesville, the daughter of M. Clifton McClure and Betty Barr McClure
or Charlottesville. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. James S. McClure; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Sarah Thomas
Barr. She is survived by her devoted husband, D. Keith Wells; her three
sons, D. Keith Wells, Jr., Mason McClure Wells and Evan Bradley Wells, all of
Richmond; sister, Sarah McClure Gfroerer; and brother-in-law, Wesley P.
Gfroerer of Charlottesville; maternal grandfather, the Rev. James M. Barr of
Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and her aunts, Mary Alice Colo of Rocky Moung,
North Carolina, and Sally Barr Alexander of Monticello, Illinois; and her
uncle, Dr. Clareace S. McClure of Daleville, Va.

Jamie graduated from Albemarle High School, and Mary-Baldwin College, Magna Cum Laude in 1985. She was a dedicated teacher who taught elementary school in Albemarle and
Fairfax counties. Jamie's greatest love and joy were her family and friends.
She was a loyal and enthusiastic follower of the University of Virginia
sports programs. Jamie was a member of Christ Church Episco\pal in Glen
Allen. The family would like to thank Dr. David Trent and the oncology staff
at Henrico Doctor's Hospital for their special care during Jamie's illness.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Parham Chapel, Woody
Funeral Home, 1771 Parham Rd. Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m.
Wednesday at Christ Church Episcopal in Glenn Allen. Entombment in Greenwood
Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family suggests that memorial contributions
be made to Christ Church Episcopal
