Kathy was born and resided in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was predeceased by her parents, James Francis Clarity and Mary Helen Odle Clarity, and her son, Artyom Caravelli.

Kathy is survived by her sisters, Alice Ann Clarity Eells and husband, John H. Eells and Margaret Jane "Peggy" Clarity; as well as many nieces and nephews. She treasured her relationship with Chris Caravelli whom she loved as a son. Kathy was blessed with wonderful friends especially Kathy and Carleen.

Kathy received her Bachelor of Science in Education with honors from the University of Virginia.

After her valiant fight with cancer, the family wishes to express their gratitude to the medical staff at the University of Virginia Hospital.
