Marie McAllister Jarvis, 61, of Crozet, Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at University of Virginia Medical Center, surrounded by family. Marie was born on May 15, 1950, in Albemarle County, daughter of the late James Ellis McAllister and Nellie Conley McAllister. She was also preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kristy Renee Jarvis, age 19, on October 6, 2006.

Marie graduated from Albemarle High School. She was formerly employed by Acme Visible Records in Crozet and the Citizens Bank and Trust Company in Charlottesville.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, W. Shirley Jarvis, to whom she was married 26 years on May 10, and her adored son, Brandon Ellis Jarvis (Kristy's twin brother), of Crozet. Marie is also survived by her aunt, Mrs. Jack (Martha) McAllister, of Crozet; five brothers-in-law, David Jarvis of Charlottesville, William Jarvis and his wife, Penny, of Charlottesville, Thomas Jarvis and his wife, Dolly, of Crozet, Robert Jarvis and his wife, Ruth, of Stony Point, and James Jarvis of Quinque; two sisters-in-law, Ella Berry and her husband, Ernie, of Charlottesville, and Bertha Henderson of Stuarts Draft; a special niece, Sherry Jarvis Zimmerman of Stony Point; and many other special cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012. at Victory Hill Church of God in Crozet. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2012, at Victory Hill Church of God with Pastors Stephen H. Mills and Larry D. Hudson officiating.
