Katherine Briggs Detamore, "Kathi", died at her home in Earlysville, Virginia, on March 22, 2018.

Kathi is survived by her brother, Tommy and his wife, Sandy, from Floresville, Texas, and her nephew Thomas, also from Floresville.

Kathi was born on March 20, 1950, in Charlottesville, Virginia. She attended Albemarle High School and graduated in 1968. She went to Radford College in Radford, Virginia and graduated in 1972 with a degree in Physical Education. She taught for over thirty years in Albemarle County, with the majority that time being spent at Woodbrook Elementary. She also served as a computer facilitator for the Albemarle County School System.

A memorial visitation is scheduled at Hill and Wood Funeral Home on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 6 until 8 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathi's life.
