Charlotte Rebecca Mawyer (Fisher) - Class Of 1966


Charlotte Rebecca "Becky" Mawyer Fisher, 59, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2008.

Born December 18, 1948, in Montgomery, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Mawyer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, William Thomas Mawyer Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Butler and Ann Raines.

Becky is survived by her husband of 32 years, David Fisher; her son, Edward "Eddie" Gentry; grandson, Derek Allen Gentry; sister, Margaret Herrmann and her husband, Frank, of Grottoes, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Wayne Fisher and his wife, Velma, of Crozet, W. H. Fisher of Crozet and Samuel Fisher of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Judy Hicklin and her husband, Roger, of Stuarts Draft; nieces, Selena Gutshall and her husband, Lee, of Crozet, Becky Fisher and her fiance, Brian Haney of Charlottesville, April Johnson and her husband, O.J., of Waynesboro, Virginia Bruce of Stuarts Draft, Vickie Collins of Troy, Brittany and Sarah Herrmann of Grottoes; nephews Paul Hoy of Waynesboro, Luke Fisher of Waynesboro, Daris Butler of Charlottesville, Rodney Butler of Utah and Michael Byron of Virginia Beach; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Becky was employed by R. A. Yancey Lumber Company in Crozet. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Becky's family has lost their earthly angel and God has gained a heavenly angel. Becky had a great love for animals especially cats (her babies).

A graveside service will be conducted 2 pm, Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Rockgate Cemetery with the Reverend Alan Thompson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be make in honor of Becky to the Charlottesville/Albemarle S.P.C.A., Post Office Box 7047, Charlottesville, VA 22906.
