In Memory

Miles Carl Seifert - Class Of 1965

Miles Carl Seifert, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on February 28, 2010, due to cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 40 years, 3 married children, and 3 grandchildren.

Miles was a dear and loyal friend all through high school. We shared so many wonderful times together, trips to the beach and vacations with his family. We especially like to dance together and play tennis! Miles had a quick wit, a unique sense of humor! He was always so kind and helpful. Miles was a loving husband and father. He held BS and MS degrees in chemical engineering from Tulane University and a MBA from LSU. He was passionate about technology, science and education. He also was an active leader at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. Miles was a member of the marching band at AHS! He loved being a leader! I know that many will remember him and the kind things he did for them.

I was very saddened to see that Miles had passed away.  I actually had not seen Miles for many years as my family moved back to New Jersey within a year after I graduated from AHS (1968).  I have been out of the loop.  I interacted with Miles as  fellow member of the Meadows Prebytarian Church youth group.  I found him to be genuinely a nice person and a true stand up guy.  He treated this lowly underclassman as an equal and to this day I remember himwith great warmth.
