William Terrill Hurt, of Elliston, VA, died on January 14, 2009, as a result of a heart attack.  He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Nancy, two sons, William and Robert, and five grandchildren.

He was an Eagle Scout and a dedicated Boy Scout leader until his death. He served his country in the USAF and in the Army Reserves. He was a strong Christian and a well-loved member of his community.
