Harold Meeks, 54, passed away on July 2, 1996, due to cancer. 

He is predeceased by his parents.  He is survived by one brother, Gene Meeks, of Crozet.

A memorial service was held for Harold at  Humpback Rocks on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

 "His ashes were scattered near Humback Rocks on the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of his favorite places. Harold Meeks was a friend of mine; he was at Ferrum College with me, at ETSU with me; he was a "free spirit" for sure, likeable. . ." Sherman
