Samuel Patteson Clarke (1966)
Loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, Ann was born July 15, 1939, in Charlottesville, Virginia, being one of three daughters of the late Gordon Thompson Burton and the Late Mildred Gertrude Burton.
She received a bachelor' s degree in education from Radford College in Radford, Virginia, and later continued her education earning a masters of education degree from The University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.
After starting her teaching career in Virginia, she moved to Decatur, Georgia, where she met her husband of 39 years and continued her career with the Dekall, County School System, from which she retired.
Survivors include her husband Richard Hodges and daughter, Laura Hodges of Decatur, Georgia; son, Ray Hodges, daughter-in-law, Julie Hodges and two grandchildren, Owen and Avery Hodges of Lilbuni, Georgia; a sister, Jean Holland and her husband, James Holland, of York, Pennsylvania; sister, Linda Burton and her husband, Lewis Gotze, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; nephews and niece, Gary Holland, Kevin Gotzc, and Elaine Holland; a host of cousins, family and friends.
In lieiu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Ann Hodges.
Funeral services will he 1 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2008, at Hillsboro Baptist Church with Dr. Alan Thompson officiating. Interment to follow at Hillsboro Cemetery .
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2008, at the funeral home.
