HALL OF FAME

Scott Goodman

Scott is being honored for more than 35 years of tireless volunteer work at Albemarle High School.  Since 1976, Scott has announced more than 175 varsity football games and over 850 basketball games.  Scott says, "I never started out with a goal of doing this so long.  It just started, and I continued to do it, even as principals & athletic directors have changed. I am very proud to be part of the AHS family.  I've loved doing it."  Scott's nominator said, "I have witnessed Scott in his pre-game preparation, talking with the visiting team to get the names and numbers right and work on the name pronunciations.  Scott Goodman is a professional at a volunteer position."  Deb Tyson, AHS Athletic Director, stated, "If you've attended a varsity football game or boys and girls basketball game in the last 37 years, you've heard the loyal voice of the Patriots. We are lucky to have such a community-minded spirit in Scott Goodman.

Regardless of the record, the coach, the District, and even the weather – Scott's voice is always there for us.  The entire Albemarle Athletic Department and community are deeply appreciative to Scott for his dedication and genuine support of the Patriots.  It is an honor to have him in the Patriot family."  Scott continues to announce games and has no plans to lay down the mike
