Catherine Ruth Haverkamp, 97, of Charlottesville, passed away on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at her residence.

Catherine was born on October 7, 1923, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Joseph and Mary Berger. Catherine spent her time volunteering in different schools and nursing homes. Catherine retired from Albemarle High School where she was the Librarian.

Catherine's most important role was being a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She always put her family first and above all else.

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years Lewis Haverkamp.

Catherine survived by her three children, Nancy Harvey (Dennis), Lynn Morris (Jeff), and James Haverkamp; five grandchildren, Dustin Gardner, Brandon Leathers, Sean Leathers, Trenton Farish, and Tucker Morris; and two great-grandchildren, Connor Leathers and Miah Leathers.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 16, 2021, from 7 until 8:30 p.m., at Teague Funeral Service in Charlottesville. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Holly Memorial Gardens in Charlottesville, with Pastor Lindsey Ellis officiating.
