Allan Polson - Class Of 1973

Allan “Snake” Wayne Polson, 70, of Charlottesville, passed away on January 22, 2026. Born on April 5, 1955, in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late William Randolph Polson and Irene W. Polson.

A 1973 graduate of Albemarle High School, Allan began what would become a lifelong career in the electrical supply industry beginning at Piedmont Electric. In 1975 he answered the call to serve his country, joining the U.S. Air Force. During his four-year tenure he served as an Intelligence Analyst for the NSA.

In 1981 he co-founded Elite Electric and later became the "Al" in Alkoh Supply, a local fixture since 1991. He eventually retired from Rexel, leaving behind a legacy of expertise and mentorship in the industry he loved.

Beyond his professional life, Allan was a dedicated member of the Charlottesville Elks Lodge #389 for over 35 years. An avid sports enthusiast, he could always be found cheering on the UVA Cavaliers.

Allan is survived by his sons, William Polson and Andrew Polson, along with their spouses Anna Lise Filippone and Ainsley Polson. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Miller, Decker, and Copeley. He also leaves behind his brothers, Randy Polson and Warren Polson, as well as a community of friends and colleagues who will miss his sharp wit and steady presence.
