It is with great sadness that I inform you of the sudden death of my sister, Mia (Maria) Cavalca, on Sunday, May 24th.

Mia died much too young at 52, in Milan, Italy, of a massive pulmonary embolism.

Mia had a huge heart and cared deeply about everyone she met and everything that she did. Mia loved art and teaching children, and her life's passion was bringing the two together. For the last ten years, she had been creating beautiful and creative spaces for children in schools around the globe. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends around the world.
