Scot Poor - Class Of 1994

Scot Andrew Poor, age 42, returned to the Lord on August 14, 2018, at 4:41 a.m. in the ICU at NORVANT Hospital in Thomasville, N.C.

He is survived by his girlfriend, Amanda Marlar; her mother, Vicki Marlar; her siblings, Adrian and Rob; and brother, Daniel E. Poor and wife, Amy. He is also survived by Joseph A. Poor, grandfather; Bruce O. Poor, father; his sisters and brother, Merillee, Nancy, and Brian with Johnny, Brian's friend; his aunt, Carol Erb and her husband, Butch, and her two children, John and Neil.

Scot died due to complications with AFIB and congestive heart failure in the ICU.

Scot is also survived by his friends in Charlottesville, Wegmans Chefs and associates, PVCC culinary (associates teachers), Habitat for Humanity friends , and long time friend, Kirt Grey.

Two pastors will speak at the funeral on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 2 p.m., Dave Goloversic and Jack Richards, pastors he knew going back to 2006. This will be a service remembering him in life in Charlottesville. There will be a slideshow of pictures of Scot from the last 42 years, as a part of the service.

Scot will be missed due to the true Virginia gentleman he was. He had grace under pressure and was friendly to everyone. He will be missed for his positive attitude. He was a big part of books and the library.

Everyone interested are encouraged to donate a book or donation to their local library in honor of Scot.
