George Eddie Smith, 70, of Ruckersville, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015, at his residence.

He was born on November 7, 1944, in Charlottesville, Va., to the late George and Lillie Clements Smith.

He is survived by his sons, Chuck, Alex, and Kenneth and their children; his granddaughter, Brandy Collier; great grandchildren, Hunter Hovey, and Brianna Collier; siblings, Virginia Sprouse, Janet Smith, Franklin Smith, Gary Smith, Henry Smith, and Brad Smith; and many, many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Jane Buzbee Smith; and sisters, Nellie Bethel and Mildred Hensley.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Culpeper National Cemetery with Pastor Josh Shifflett officiating and honors provided by the VFW Post 2524.

Interment will follow in Culpeper National Cemetery.
