In Memory

Justin Carroll - Class Of 2007

Justin Michael Carroll, 34, of Barboursville, Va. died on February 22, 2024, at UVA Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born June 5, 1989 in Danbury, Conn., he was the son of Leigh G. Carroll and Amy R. Carroll. He was preceded in death by his father, Leigh G. Carroll and his sister, Alyssa R. Carroll.

Justin loved sports, especially baseball, football, basketball, lacrosse and golf. His three-point shot was sweet. Justin's younger brother, Ryan, fondly remembers Justin's quirky sense of humor (like their little sister Alyssa) and that his favorite childhood memory was playing catch with his brother. Justin was an avid outdoors-man, enjoying fishing and deer hunting, like his father and grandfather. He was equally capable with a rifle or a compound bow. He was a die-hard New York Mets fan and, recently, an avid supporter of Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. He also loved animals, especially his faithful best friend, sweet Kodah, the pit bull. Justin enjoyed online video gaming with his brother and cousins. He was wonderful with children, engaging in their games, patient and loving.

Justin is survived by his mother, Amy Carroll; stepfather, Stephen Campbell of Barboursville, Va.; and his brother Ryan Carroll of Indianapolis, Ind.

Justin, throughout his life, was surrounded by the most loving of families, the Carrolls, the Ragaglias and the Parolisis, including all his aunts, uncles and cousins. We all know Justin had much more to accomplish but was not afforded that time.

A private memorial service will be held for family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Albemarle SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22901, caspca.org.
