Spencer Wade “BOOTS” Powell 57, of Ruckersville, passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father James Clayton Powell, his mother June Virginia Belle Haigh, and a sister Susie Ann Carter.

Spencer is survived by 2 daughters, Melissa Powell and Fiancé Chris Kuper of Ruckersville, Samantha Powell and Fiancé Kyle Shifflett of Barboursville, one grandson Ayden Shifflett of Barboursville. Spencer is also survived by two sisters Virginia “Jenny Lou” Breeden, William “Billy” of Buckingham, and Juanita “Carolyn” Zimmerman of Ruckersville.

While Spencer enjoyed all of his family's home cooking and gatherings, his fondest memories were working alongside his father at the farm. He also loved learning and was proud to have graduated from CATEC with his electrical degree and advanced to a Master's. He will be well remembered in the field for his 35+ years of dedication.

Spencer is, also, well loved by his family which includes 8 nieces, 5 nephews, and numerous great nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends and family on April 27, 2021, from 6-8 at the Teague Funeral Service 2260 Ivy Road Charlottesville, Va 22903. Funeral Services will be held on April 28, 2021, at 11am at the Teague Funeral Service with Pastor Lindsey Ellis officiating. Spencer will be laid to rest at Holly Memorial Gardens following the funeral service.
