Melanie Dawn Harris of Scottsville, Va. passed away at her home on Monday, March 8, 2021 at the age of 57.

She was born in Charlottesville, Va. on September 17, 1963. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank A. Harris and mother, Hazel M. Harris of Scottsville, Va.

She is survived by her daughter, Angela Williams, husband, Nick of Scottsville; two grandchildren, Alora and Camden; her sister, Jeannie Madison, husband, Duke of Fluvanna, Va.; and her step mother, Ethel C. Harris of Scottsville, Va.

Melanie worked for Jarmans Sportcycles for several decades. Motorcycle riding was a large part of her life, something that gave her great joy. She participated in many benefit/charity rides for those in need. She had a big heart and loved to help others. She had the gift of an immediate likable personality.

Those that she rode with were not just friends; she thought of and loved them as family. She will always be remembered for her goofy demeanor and ability to make others laugh.

Funeral services will be conducted by Hill and Wood Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021 at Monticello Memorial Gardens.
