Lewis Joseph Starks III - Class Of 1978

Lewis Joseph Starks III, 59, of Del Ray Beach, Florida, closed his eyes and drifted into a peaceful sleep on Sunday, May 19, 2019, after an eight month battle with cancer.

He was born November 11, 1959, in Albemarle County to his parents, Lewis J. Starks Jr. and the late Barbara J. Epps-Douglas. Lewis was affectionately known as "Junnie" or "Tiger Paw".

After graduating from Albemarle High School, he gained employment at the UVA Medical Center as a Pharmacy Technician.

In March 1987, he relocated to Homestead, Florida. He lived in Florida for 32 years and enjoyed a life of golfing, the water, the facets of trying new foods and great friends.

Junnie leaves to cherish amazing memories his father, Lewis J. "Poobie" (Shirlie) Starks Jr; six siblings, Elton (Rose) Starks, his twin, Gwendolyn (James) Franklin, Denise Starks (John) Bell, Venise Starks Rush (Greg) Brown, Dawn "Roxie" Starks (Alonzo) Johnson and DeShanta Starks (Greg) Turner.

We ask that you please wear UVA attire and plan to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church, 8825 Chestnut Grove Rd., Esmont, VA 22937.
