Brenda Gayle (Payne) Ramey, 73, of Scottsville, died on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born on April 11, 1949, in Albemarle County, a daughter of Juanita (Gardener) Meeks of Louisa, who survives, and the late Dennis O'Neil Payne Jr.

Brenda worked as a Secretary for both UVA and Blue Ridge Hospitals. She enjoyed reading and was a member of Rivanna Baptist Church.

Survivors include her mother; her husband of 47 years, Andrew Dennis Ramey; one daughter, Angie Ramey Critzer (Travis) of Scottsville; grandchildren, Trey and Kiersten, Josh and Hanna; two great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Sully; and a sister, Diane Payne of Louisa.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Rivanna Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Winfield.
