Students at Albemarle High School paid their respects to Lily by placing objects and flowers at a location on the breezeway. A moment of silent prayer was observed and a letter of appreciation from Mr. Romando was read by the announcer prior to the beginning of Albemarle - Monticello football game on Friday night, August 31.

Lily Romando would have been a 2014 graduate.  Lily was a well liked student when she attended Albemarle High School.  She had a positive impact on many.  For her to be taken away at such an early age is tragic and the students let their thoughts be known by dropping off flowers, photographs, drawings and other items in a location on the breezway as a memorial to Lily.  Albemarle High School Principal Jay Thomas sent out a message to all announcing the loss of Lily.  Three days later at the Albemarle - Monticello football game, there was a moment of silient prayer and a letter of appreciation from Lily's father, Peter Romando, was read by the announcer.  It was truly a touching moment.  Lily was taken away from us far too early.  Our prayers are with Lily's remaining family and I am sure she is now in a safe place.  Due to the actions of another, we will never have the presence of Lily with us as a member of the AHS Alumni Association family.  Lily, I am sure I speak for those that knew you at Albemarle High School and in our community, you will be missed.  I know my grandson Dylan,  who was in your class at AHS,  feels the loss as some of his feelings have become my feelings.
