In Memory

Vincent Eric "Joe Allen" Lindamood - Class Of 1973

Vincent Lindamood, most recently of Lahaina, Hawaii, and formerly of Charlottesville, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 8, 2012, after a brief illness and hospitalization. He was 56 years old.

Vincent, also known as "Joe Allen" during childhood, was born on June 13, 1955, to Evalyn Lindamood Brown and Luther L. "Tony" Lindamood.

He graduated in 1973 from Albemarle High School.

His father, Tony, and older sister, Rosalita Lindamood, preceded him in death.

After high school, Vincent left the cold weather of Virginia and made his life in the warmer climate of Miami, Florida, which he adored. An avid reader, he enjoyed work in numerous niche bookstores throughout his life. About two years ago, he achieved a dream to live in Hawaii, after visiting there 20 years ago. Vincent's love of dogs led to many rescued mutts finding a dedicated companion and safe home. He was seldom without a four-legged friend by his side.

Vincent is survived by his son, Adrian Alvarez and wife, Heather, of Goshen Ohio; his mother, Evalyn Brown of Charlottesville; a brother, Lewis Lindamood and wife, Wingina, of Elkton; two half sisters, Susie Hosaflook and husband, Greg, of Kents Store and Marchenka McCall and husband, Trevor, of Dillwyn; several nieces and nephews, "Aloha, Vincent!" from each of us.

Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, 131 Shaw Street, Lahaina, HI 96761.

A private celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

May you rest in peace, old friend. We grew up together, and you shaped much of the direction of my early life. Although I lost contact with you in later years, I am saddened by your passing. May you be at peace, I will see you on the other side.
