Matthew Scott Audia - Class Of 2011

Matthew Scott Audia, 21, of Gordonsville went home to be with Jesus after a horrific two year battle with Desmoplastic Round Cell Cancer on Wednesday November 26, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born in Charlottesville on June 30, 1993, to Gloria Britts of Louisa and Joseph Mark Audia Sr. of Oilville.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, James F. "Sonny" Mundie and John Audia, Jr.

Matthew was a 2011 graduate of Albemarle High School. He was attending Piedmont Virginia Community College and was also employed by Duners in Ivy. He attended Grace Baptist Church a few years prior to his illness and had been attending Solid Rock Gospel Church the past several years. He enjoyed sports and was an avid basketball player. He valued time with his friends.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Gloria Britts and stepfather, Wayne Britts of Louisa; his father, Joseph Audia and wife, Carol, of Oilville; grandparents, Jerrie and Roger Ryder of Gordonsville; grandmother, Vicky Audia of Waynesboro; two brothers, Joseph Audia Jr. and David Britts; first cousins, Jimmy Marsh of Fluvanna, John David Birkhead Jr. of Barboursville, Allen Q. Marsh of Charlottesville; one great-aunt and uncle, Dolly and John Cason of Charlottesville; two special aunts, Barbara Mundie of Barboursville and Diane Marsh of Charlottesville; one uncle, John Audia of Richmond; and a host of other relatives and close friends including special friends, Johnny, Bagel and Keith

.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Solid Rock Gospel Church in Barboursville with Pastor Larry Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Beaverdam Baptist Church Cemetery.

Anyone who knew this young man was inspired by his sense of humor and loving compassion for others. Matt will be greatly missed by anyone who crossed his path.
