In Memory

Reveley Lee

Reveley Ann Lee was blessed with many gifts that she shared with so many during her short time on Earth. Family and friends were embraced by her kind and gentle soul that was stirred by love, compassion, thoughtfulness and generosity - gifts that were modeled by her mother and freely given to all she met. Her love of the outdoors and the environment were passions inspired by her dad. So many are connected by wonderful memories and times spent together, and the profound impact on those she left behind.

Reveley was born in Winchester, Virginia on June 29, 1979, and graduated from Powhatan School in 1993 and Notre Dame Academy in 1997. She attended the College of William and Mary and graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in English, M.T. in English Secondary Education and E.D.S. in Reading. She was attending Vanderbilt University, working toward her Ph.D. in Literacy, Language and Culture.

Reveley taught at Albemarle High School from 2004 until 2007. Her ESOL students were very special and impacted her ongoing commitment to literacy and education.

After suffering a severe brain aneurysm on April 27, she completed her earthly journey into eternal life on Thursday, May 22, 2008, in San Francisco, California.

She is survived by her father G. Robert Lee and his wife Sue Kellon; her mother Kathleen Kanter and her husband Byron Brill; stepsisters Anne Brill and Delanie Kellon and her husband, Oscar Arreola; and stepbrother Eric Kellon and his wife, Cathy and son, Owen. Her extended Kanter family of four aunts and three uncles and their spouses, and eighteen cousins and their children will miss her. Her father's brother also survives her. She was predeceased by all of her grandparents and her special cousin Cayce.

A celebration of Reveley's life is scheduled for 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 156 West Washington Street, Strasburg, Virginia. Lunch will be served immediately following the service in the church social hall. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2008, at the church. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley, in honor of Reveley Ann Lee, 203 Salem Church Road, Stephens City, Virginia 22655.

Reveley's smile touched so many and her love will connect us forever. "Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it." Hebrews 13:2
