Betty Crickenberger (Suddarth) - Class Of 1959

Betty Crickenberger Suddarth, 80, of Hopewell, Virginia, passed away on August 2, 2021, in Hospice Care at Johnston-Willis Hospital. Betty was born in Albemarle County, Virginia, to Virginia K. and Everett C. Crickenberger, Sr.

She retired from the Virginia Department of Health, Crater District, in 2004. She loved her family, her church family, and her friends. She enjoyed playing Bingo and the lottery and loved the horseraces and NASCAR.

Betty is survived by her son, Brian "Scott" (Tricia) Suddarth of Chester; her sisters, Shirley "Joyce" Shotwell of Charlottesville, and Kathleen F. Dorman of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Kenneth B. Crickenberger of Charlottesville; and the loves of her life, her granddaughters, Sarah Kay and Jordan Nicole Suddarth; and her favorite grand dog, Homer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Joseph "Buddy" B. Suddarth Jr.; her parents, Virginia K. and Everett C. Crickenberger Sr.; her son, Lee "Buzz" E. Suddarth; and her brothers, Everett C. Crickenberger, Jr., and Bobby J. Crickenberger.

The family would like to thank the staff at Johnston-Willis Hospital and Hospice Care at Capital Caring Health.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at the Chester Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home.
