Derek Martin Webster of 1616 Oxford Rd. died of cancer on Nov. 25, 1982, in a local hospital. Born Oct. 5, 1950, in Albemarle Co., he was the son of John Gordon Webster and the late Isabella Urner Webster.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sister, Christianna W. Lucas and his brother-in-law, Warren P. Lucas, both of Roanoke.
He was a 1969 graduate of Albemarle High School where he was a member of the Cross Country Team.
He attended Chowan Junior College and Piedmont Virginia Community College. He enlisted in the army in 1970. During his four years of service with the Army Security Agency, he served tours of duty at Ft. Knox, Ky., Istanbul, .Turkey, and Ft. Lewis, Wash. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour where he was a former member of the choir.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, 1982, in the Church of Our Saviour Cemetery, the Rev. Harold H. Hallock officiating.
The family suggests expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 419 Lexington Ave. or to the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour, Rio Road, Charlottesville.
Arrangements by the Joseph W. Teague Funeral Home.
