John Davis - Class Of 1970 VIEW PROFILE

The family of John Phillip Davis, Sr. is saddened to say he passed suddenly on Sept. 20, 2023 in Yulee, FL. John was a graduate of Albemarle County High School, A graduate of Auto Diesel College in Nashville, Tennessee, and an excellent trained carpenter who could build or repair anything. Later in life he joined the CSX railroad and then moved on to Amtrak as an Engineer, from where he retired. He moved to Florida and met his wife Barbara where they lived on a Florida coastal waterway. They also enjoyed their small farm with horses, goats and other animals. John loved the water. He had a passion for traveling, motorsports and driving fast on winding back roads. John enjoyed many family and friends from Virginia to Florida. He will be missed by all.

John is preceded in death by his father John Andrew Davis 1901-1977, his mother Hattie Virginia Clemons Davis 1908-1979, brother Andrew Jackson Davis 1944-1962, sister Joan A. Davis Scott 1931-1970, brother Laurence Alvin Davis 1927-1987, brother Arthur Lowell Davis 1940-1990, brother Dave Davis.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Yulee, FL and his son, Phillip Davis, Step-daughter, Adelaide Urban and Son-in-law Patrick Urban. He leaves behind four Grandchildren, Mitchell Davis, Kate Davis, Michael Urban, Robert Urban and many nieces and nephews.

John's wife and son welcome family and friends to an Outdoor Celebration of Life Service on Sunday October, 29th at 3 p.m. at the Jones Family Pavilion - 1773 Zion Road Troy, Va 22974.|
