Benshoff, Victor TorreVictor Torre Benshoff died Sunday afternoon, June 21, 2015, at his residence following complications from cancer.

He was born in Little Rock, Ark. and raised in Charlottesville, the youngest of three children of James and Mable Benshoff.Victor graduated from Albemarle High School and attended Virginia Tech and Piedmont Community College. He also had the experience of attending part of high school at Bearwood Academy, a British boarding school.Victor was owner of A/V Services of Virginia, and a dedicated musician and talented recording producer/engineer.

He leaves behind his wife, Susan Frager Benshoff; brother, James Benshoff and sister-in-law, Amy Kirschke of Wilmington N.C.; sister, Lisa Benshoff and brother-in-law, Antonio Parra of Easton Md.; son, Alexander Benshoff of Standardsville; and stepdaughter, Jessica Turner of Charlottesville. He also leaves behind countless friends and musician colleagues.

Victor's love of listening to, performing, and creating music was a driving passion in his life, sustaining him through good times and bad. His love of life and positive energy were gifts that he shared with everyone he touched in life. Victor has left us much too soon, but leaves behind a legacy of love, positivity, and perseverance.

A memorial service and celebration of Victor's life will be held at Blue Ridge Community Church, 5372 Lake Saponi Dr, Barboursville, Va. (off Route 29) on Saturday, June 27, 2015, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the house.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to www.musicforhope.org. Any donations made in "Memory of Victor Benshoff" will be earmarked for the Charlottesville Central Virginia area.
